New Trick

This morning when Taysia woke up, I opened the door and was surprised to see that she had learned a new trick.

Happy Easter!

Grandma has an Easter Egg Hunt every year. Taysia was very serious, but had a lot of fun hunting for eggs with Daddy. I was surprised how quickly she picked up on the concept of gathering eggs. It was too cold for a pretty Easter dress, but Taysia quite enjoyed it anyway!

Finally Finalized!

This morning we went before a judge and finalized Taysia’s adoption. Finalization is the last formal step in the adoption process whereby an adoption is decreed to be permanent and binding by a judge, so you can understand that it was an important day for us. Yay!

Thanksgiving

This year we were able to have Thanksgiving dinner with both families and it was nice. We have so much to be thankful for!

Taysia Brianne - Week 26

Taysia discovered the joy of sucking her thumb this week. Taysia also has discovered that she likes to touch my hair as she's drifting off to sleep.

Taysia Brianne - Week 25

Taysia's latest favorite song is when Daddy sings the Cops TV show theme song: "Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the come for you?" She thinks it's hilarious.

Taysia Brianne - Week 24

Taysia likes to hear herself growl and squeal. She was singing to me this morning. Taysia scrunches up her nose and makes funny faces. She also opens her mouth when I drink a glass of water like she would like some herself.

Taysia Brianne - Week 23

Taysia becomes more and more interested in what I eat and this week she tried to wrestle my granola bar out of my hands. She also loves to give slobbery kisses.

Taysia Brianne - Week 22

This week Taysia turned five months old. She figured out that she could make splashes and make Mommy squeal by kicking her feet in the bathtub. Taysia gets so excited when Scott gets home from work that her whole body wiggles. She continues to love the dogs and has started talking to them when she’s in her exersaucer.

Taysia Brianne - Week 21

Taysia wants to roll over from her back to her tummy but hasn’t quite figured it out yet. She loves to get strapped into her car seat because she knows we’re going somewhere. She loves to go shopping and I carry her in the carrier on my chest. Taysia has discovered my mouth and likes putting her hand on my mouth so I will kiss it.

Taysia’s cousin got her the little cheerleading outfit from the dollar store. My sister ironed a "Y" on it and we have an instant BYU fan! Notice how Taysia hold’s up her finger as if to say "#1." (Of course, Scott’s wishing the outfit was red - LOL.)

Taysia Brianne - Week 20

Taysia has started grabbing the keyboard when we’re using the computer. She’s getting a lot better at grabbing toys and bringing them to her mouth. Taysia also likes to look at the TV remote. It won’t be long before she’s getting into everything.

Taysia Brianne - Week 19

Taysia loves Alaska and Kira and gets a kick out of them when they bark or "talk." She will even sit and watch them for some time, waiting for them to make a noise. I took her out in the stroller for the first time this week and she loved it.

Grandpa's Pumpkins

Every year my dad grows these huge pumpkins for Halloween. He tries to grow a pumpkin for every grandchild to take home. We had to take pictures with Taysia and Grandpa’s pumpkins. Taysia was in a mellow mood today and we didn’t really get any smiles out of her, but she sure enjoyed the pumpkins, seeing the colors and touching the textures. She really liked the pumpkin stems.

Taysia Brianne - Week 18

Taysia has become very interested in what I eat and drink. She likes to drink a little water from a cup. She also likes to giggle and play. Taysia throws out her legs and arches her back to get a reaction from me, and then giggles when I act surprised. She has a thing with her finger lately where she points her finger and then studies it closely. This week Taysia also turned four months old.

Taysia Brianne - Week 17

Taysia is getting so big! Seems like every time I pick her up she seems taller or heavier. And she’s also getting very active. Taysia is very sweet and sometimes likes to just sit back in my arm and "talk" to me.

Taysia Brianne - Week 16

Taysia scrunches up her nose when she smiles and acts shy if you look at her and smile. Taysia has just discovered the joy of blowing raspberries and has become quite proficient at it. She’s enjoys playing on her own a lot more lately and sometimes gets bored just sitting on my lap.

Inspired

Last week our sister-in-law was kind enough to take Taysia’s three-month-old pictures. Becky has a nice digital SLR camera, some backgrounds, and some fun props. We are still waiting until we get together to see the pictures, but I’m sure they are beautiful! Meanwhile, I was inspired by Becky and caught the bug and decided to try and set up my own little photo studio in Taysia’s bedroom. Taysia was tired and didn’t really want to do photos today, and this is the best shot I got.

Taysia Brianne - Week 15

Taysia has started laughing when I clap for her. She likes it so much she watches my hands very carefully when I use the hand sanitizer, hoping for a clap or two. She likes to play boo with the dogs, and giggles every time.

Taysia had been sleeping in an old car seat and it was really helping a lot with the reflux. A few days ago she starting rolling over in that car seat and now we’ve got to figure something else out. She was doing really well with the reflux, but now that we have moved her to the bassinet she has started coughing and wheezing and having trouble sleeping again. Poor girl.

Taysia has started doing several new things this week. She figured out that if she kicks in her bouncer or car seat her toys move. She rolled over from her tummy to her back this week. And she also brought a toy to her mouth that she was grasping in her hand. Taysia also turned three months old this week.
